Argh.... aRVs... SO SLOW IS MY PROGRESS [2007-04-24 12:26:45]

Trams Download [2007-04-22 22:50:08]

...nowhere near complete....
but you can download the Japanese Trams from HERE
...they've always been there... those "in the know" would be playign with them... I just wouldn't trust the aRVs code to be using them :D

on a lighter note... aRVs is getting close to what we need... a new release!

Depot Finding / Connecting [2006-08-30 00:31:13]

Ladies and Gentlemen.
I have re-jigged the depot finding code to make sure that Trams don't try to find Road Vehicle Depots and Vice-Versa. Unfortunately, there are still issues with the wrong vehicle class driving into the wrong depot class if the track/road is connected to the wrong depot class!
The answer? Hack the code? No...!....
I just ask that all you kiddies connect the road/track properly as seen in the attached image!

Steven's Advice for the day! [2006-08-17 00:15:08]

... I should get back to the patch-dev'ing.
And for those in the back, please download the entirely unfinished Japan Tram Set

DOS aRVs [2006-07-20 09:44:45]

Finally... After trying to reinstall [oh... I just realised I formatted my subnotebook for no reason at all now ] millions of debuggers and virtual machine software I finally got the DOS port debugged using nothing less than DOSBox 0.65 (With Heavy Debugger)
It's a great application, just watch out for slightly-off memory addresses.
Anyway, those DOS users amongst you all, rejoice... you can now build aRVs!

Overtaking! [2006-07-13 12:22:21]

Ugh.... This took forever... then I realised the code I added had no effect on the problem I was facing.... So... there is a massive issue with trailers lagging behind on Uturns.. fun.... but anyway... aRVs can be overtaken!

Depot Code is not for the faint-of-heart [2006-06-21 01:50:39]

So, whilst I'm awaiting responses on the forum as to what's missing/busted/stupid (apart from callbacks, which will have to wait till I push my code into the trunk) I'm going to start investigating DirectX and maybe check out the layer between TTD and Windows to try and divide and conquer.
This is a really nice link with good textuals on DirectX
And yeah... if you're reading this and you've ran my development version... you should be ashamed of yourself for not responding in the forum and keeping my workload flowing.

Apart from that, I'm off to Hong Kong next week and wont be touching code at all....
Have fun, the lot of you....

Cargo Text look great! [2006-06-17 09:04:24]

Yey... don't that text look swell bubba?

Hitch 'em up Boyz! [2006-06-12 08:32:10]

Ctrl-Build is nearly perfect... just a slight initial-position issue for trailers.

...nearly there...
update:Works.... code complete....
...and yes, you can hitch articulated vehicles together.

Hiroshima 70 and 200 Series [2006-06-05 03:49:18]

Here are the Hiroshima 238 and 70 Series. Both were imported from Germany (the 238 in 1920's and the 70 after teh sister-city contract was signed back in the 1950's). They're still running on the streets today.
Thanks to RK for help on these sprites.

Tram Freight Stops [2006-06-01 23:47:54]

Although a little weird, I just can't help but give people what they ask for... so here they are:

Looooooooong RVs [2006-05-31 01:57:00]

RK, over at tt-forums just had to test the limits...

.. and well.... after a little patching, it all works... a 6-car consist is a little extreme though!

Drive-Thru Truck Stops [2006-05-29 10:50:52]

...took no where near as long as I expected to code... will hopefully get these into Beta 6..
Thanks to Oskar Eisemuth for the original bus stop code!

Heavy Traffic! [2006-05-28 11:51:51]

Uh oh... seems that I'm starting to get lock-ups... time to debug the collision code... .again....

On target... not on time. [2006-05-28 10:58:32]

I don't think the buildings are transparent enough, but you get the general idea.
